Our Policies

EXCHANGES AND RETURNS
Barton's Jewelers prides itself on customer satisfaction. Unless otherwise specified below, your purchase may be exchanged or returned within 14 days from the original purchase date. The item must be unworn, in original condition, and in the original gift box with all warranty cards and explanation booklets intact. Special orders, completed layaways, modified and/or custom pieces are not returnable or exchangeable. No refund or exchange on any Sale items. Gift recipients will be issued a merchandise credit only. Gift Certificates are not redeemable for cash. Our 14 day return policy for December purchases is extended to January 14th of the next calendar year.

SPECIAL ORDERS
We regret that special orders are not returnable, and that no refund or exchange can be made. All special orders require a 50% nonrefundable deposit. A special order includes any jewelry, gemstone, or watch that has to be ordered to accommodate the clients request for an alternative style, size or color that is not available in stock.

LAYAWAYS
Most items may be put on layaway for a maximum of 120 days with a minimum deposit of 25%. There must be monthly payment activity and the item must be paid in full by the end of the layaway period. Canceled layaways are subject to a 20% restocking fee, with the remaining balance to be issued as a store credit only. Completed layaways are not returnable or exchangeable.

CUSTOM WORK
Custom designed jewelry involves metals, gems, and the labor furnished by Barton's Jewelers for a specific client. As such, all custom jewelry is nonrefundable and requires a 25% nonrefundable deposit before the work begins. Every effort will be made by Barton's Jewelers to accurately manufacture or produce the item(s) so ordered. Full payment upon receipt of custom work will denote the clients complete satisfaction. More adjustments, such as ring sizing or texturing will gladly be made at Barton's Jewelers to accommodate the wearer at either a modest fee or at no charge depending of the extent of the work involved.

GEMSTONE ENHANCEMENT DISCLOSURE
Many gemstones have historically and traditionally been enhanced to improve color, clarity and/or stability. Unless noted otherwise, we must assume that all gems have been subjected to the usual and customary industry treatments. 

WHITE GOLD ENHANCEMENT DISCLOSURE
Most white gold jewelry items are rhodium finished, thus giving a white color to the completed piece. The rhodium finish is not, however, a permanent treatment and wears off with time.

REPAIRS
Barton's Jewelers is not responsible for changes in finish of an item due to normal repair processes. We will reapply the original finish as closely as possible. We are not responsible for further damage to a previously chipped, damaged or enhanced diamond or other gemstone during the repair process. Repairs may only be redeemed by the individual whose name is on the repair with the claim check and/or picture identification. New watch movements have a one year warranty from the date of installation. However, rust and/or abuse will void this warranty. Replacement of a watch battery does not guarantee function. Batteries have a one year warranty from the date of installation. We accept no responsibility for watches tampered with before drop off.

SERVICING AND CLEANING
Barton's Jewelers will gladly clean and inspect jewelry purchased from anyone free of charge at any time. We recommend an inspection every three months.

DIAMOND UPGRADE POLICY
Any single diamond purchased from Barton's Jewelers may be traded in for credit for the original purchase price on any single future diamond purchase upon meeting the following conditions:

  1. The diamond must be in the same condition as at the time of purchase and be accompanied by any reports and/or certificates. 
  2. The new diamond selection must be at least a ½ carat larger and of equal or higher clarity and color. 

RETURNED CHECKS
Returned checks will be assessed a fee of $25.00.
